Job Title: Remote Accountant – Xero Specialist (Tax Consultancy)

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Remote Accountant with hands-on experience in Xero to support our tax advisory operations and ensure accurate financial management for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage client accounts using Xero software
- Perform reconciliations of bank, credit card, and control accounts
- Process VAT returns, payroll, and CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) submissions
- Prepare and review year-end financial statements and tax computations
- Support client onboarding, training, and advisory on financial systems
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and submission deadlines
- Assist tax consultants with financial data required for tax planning and advisory
- Liaise directly with clients regarding queries, documentation, and reporting
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as an accountant in a tax consultancy or accounting firm
- Strong proficiency in Xero (certification preferred)
- Knowledge of UK tax laws including VAT, Corporation Tax, and Self-Assessment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple client accounts with efficiency
- Strong communication skills and a client-first approach
- AAT/ACCA/ACA/CPA or equivalent qualification (part-qualified considered)
